MapStats

A few days ago I noticed that CoCo had a list of where the 10 latest visitors came from (geographically). I though it looked cool and after som clicking I found my way to MapStats. I have now added MapStats to this site and you can see the latest visitors on a map by clicking the blue Mapstats button on the right.

I hope no one feels too exposed by this. If so, please let me know.

New Look

I have finally replaced the default theme that came with Wordpress 1.5. I found another one I like even better than this one but it requires more tweaking before I am happy with it. I may switch again later. Then again I might just not bother to . . .

How do I insert page numbers in OpenOffice.org?

Insert > Fields > Page Number

I just had to post that so I will remember it. It was very non-obvious to me and I have spent considerable amounts of time trying to insert page numbers. I think I gave up several times before I stumbled over this.

It’s Official!

I can’t believe it! I got my diploma in the mail today! As reported earlier, I have completed all the courses for my law degree and the day before yesterday I handed in my application for a degree certificate. I have been told that it can take up to six months for them to process such requests. But mine must have been mailed yesterday, i.e. one day after my application. Well done!

I am a Lawyer! w00t!

I am actually a lawyer! At last, everything has been reported into the university computer systems and I have a piece of paper that shows that I have completed all the courses for my law degree.

Actually, the last thing I completed was the final essay, which was sort of finished in May, but since everyone takes the summer off in Sweden it was not formally approved until today.

Now I am told it can take several months to get the final piece of paper that says I have a degree, as opposed to just a list of completed courses . . .

Oh, and the thesis, which is about the aplicability of Creative Commons licenses in Sweden and the drafting of Swedish versions, will be available online shortly. It is, however, written in Swedish.

Net Jamming

The Creative Commons blog reports that there is a new free (as in GNU GPL) tool for collaborative music making.

NINJAM is a free software product that lets you jam (make music) with other NINJAM users across the net. . . All tracks, remote and local, can be saved individually for offline remixing, and all NINJAMmers agree to
use a Creative Commons license in order to participate.

Although this “forced” use of CC licenses seems a bit odd, the concept seems really cool.

Ads Tattooed on Fruit?

The New York Times reports that there are now tatooed fruits. Instead of the annoying stickers, PLU and other information is “tattoed” on the fruit with lasers.

You could have a green pepper that was completely covered with coding. Or you could sell advertising space.

Send it to All Your Friends!

I’m still recovering from last night’s Iron Maiden concert here in Göteborg. The concert was broadcast on Swedish radio and TV and apparently it was also shown in a few other countries.

If you’re watching this and you’re bootlegging it, make sure you send it to all of your friends, not just your Swedish ones.
