The EU will hold a workshop on Digital Restrictions Management. Last time, the list of speakers included mainly record companies and other rights holders.

The High Level Group on Digital Rights Management (DRM), set up by the Commission to consolidate the views of the various stakeholders on DRM related issues, and to identify the possible ways forward, presented its Final Report on 8th July 2004. The informal public consultation on the Final Report allowed a wide range of stakeholders to provide their views on the outcome reached by the High Level Group.

In order to share the result of the informal public consultation and the outcome of the High Level Group, and where possible to further explore ways to reach consensus on DRM, the Commission is organising a one day workshop on DRM which will take place on 6 April 2005, from 9.15 AM to 5.30 PM.
