Google Summer of Code 2006

Google Summer of Code 2006

I have not heard about the Summer of Code previously but it does sound like it could offer some good work experience, although it is organised by Google; :twisted:

Summer of Code 2006 is a program that offers student developers stipends to create new open source programs or to help currently established projects. Google will be working with a variety of open source, free software, and technology-related groups to identify and fund several hundred projects over a three-month period.
FAQ

There are loads of important Mentoring Organisations signed up, most notable among them;
The Gnu Project and Creative Commons, of course. :wink:
(It is sort of interesting that the license preferred by CC is the GNU GPL, by the way).

So all you students out there; evoke the Ancient Battle CryInformation wants to be Free‘ and get Hacking!! :grin:

Or if you prefer; perhaps the slightly shorter and less ancient Battle CryExtermicake‘, ‘Extermicake‘! :shock:

I found out about it through LIS News.
